I can’t believe how quickly time has passed. Eroticon is less than two weeks away and I haven’t even bought a suitcase for all my books yet! My nerves are building and I haven’t lost the weight I was hoping to, but I’m still hell-bent on enjoying the weekend 🙂
So, to everyone who doesn’t know me, here is my introduction, xx
NAME (and Twitter if you have one)
Lisa Jenkins @SinfulPress
What are you hoping to get out of Eroticon 2017?
Professionally: I am attending as Sinful Press so I am looking to network, to learn more about the people who live various lifestyles so I can better represent them through literature, and to hopefully meet some future Sinful Press authors.
Personally: I am one of those people whose life is spent behind a computer screen so the thought of attending a convention like this is quite daunting. I’m hoping that spending time with this many confident, open people will help to bring me out of my shell a bit as well as meeting old friends and making new friends. I should warn everyone that I am useless with names and faces so please forgive me if I get things wrong.
Even though I am an introvert, I am naturally curious about anything and everything, so I am really excited about this weekend.
This years schedule at Eroticon is pretty full on but which 4 sessions do you already have marked down as ones you want to attend?
Ouch! There are loads of sessions I’d love to attend, but if I have to pick 4, they are:
Undressing Disability on and off screen: Inclusive sex, disclosure and devoteeism: Emily Rose Yates.
This is a subject I feel is highly under-represented in erotica so it should be really interesting.
The Other Kind Of Branding.
Just because who wouldn’t want to know more!
A KinkCraft Workshop.
This is going to be a nice, fun workshop to balance out the more academic subjects 🙂
And.. Pitch to a Company/Pitch to a Publisher, as it would be very rude of me not to attend a session I’m on the panel for, hahahaha.
I would also love to attend the Hands On Rope Workshop, but as a sufferer of social anxiety with an aversion to physical contact, I think I’d best try this on more of a one-to-one basis.
Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know?
I have been recently diagnosed with Autism so the past year has been an amazing journey of self-discovery that has only just begun.
If you made the papers, what would the headline be?
Controversial publisher breaks neck in stair fall at award ceremony.
If you could have one skill for free (I.e. without practice/time/effort) what would it be?
I’d have to say to be able to eat a meal without tipping it all over myself 😀 I’m probably the clumsiest person I know which leads to all sorts of embarrassing and awkward moments!
Complete the sentence: I love it when…
I have enough free time to completely lose myself in my imagination.
